ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Children of U.S. Air Force or U.S. Space Force members in the following categories:
Active Duty, Title 10 Reserve and Guard on extended active duty, and Title 32 Guard performing full-time active duty through December 1 of the academic year.
Retired due to length of active duty service or disability.
Retired AGR/Reserve with 20+ satisfactory service years creditable for retired pay and placed on the Air Force or Space Force Reserve Retired List (no other retired classifications are considered eligible).
Deceased member who died while on active duty or in retired status.
Children must not reach age 24 during the award year.
Spouses of U.S. Air Force or U.S. Space Force members in the following categories:

Surviving spouses of Air Force and Space Force members who died while on active duty or in retired status.
Spouses must be legally married to the member (not separated or pending divorce) at the time of application and disbursement of award.

Be a high school graduate enrolled or accepted as a full-time undergraduate student in the upcoming academic year.
Be enrolled or accepted in an accredited college, university or vocational/trade school approved by the U.S. Department of Education for participation in federal aid programs.
Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of a 2.0 on a 4.0 scale and remain in good standing with the school.
Not be a graduate or professional student.
Not be a veteran or a member of the National Guard, Reserves or other military branch.

AMVETS scholarships are designed to fulfill a financial gap after all Federal/State grants and/or scholarships available to an eligible applicant have been exhausted.

The Maj. Gen. James Ursano Scholarship Program for Dependent Children is based on applicants’ financial needs and was established to assist children of Soldiers in obtaining their first undergraduate degrees. Applicants may receive assistance for up to four academic years of full-time study but must meet eligibility criteria and reapply each year.

ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Daughter or son of a current or veteran United States Army Special Forces Soldier.
Undergraduate students must not have reached 26 years of age by 15 October 2024.
Graduate students must not have reached 28 years of age by 15 October 2024.
Full-time student pursuing degree/certification completion at an accredited post-secondary institution.
A high school senior, high school graduate, or registered as a full-time undergraduate student at an accredited college or post-secondary vocational/technical institute.
For graduate school scholarships, currently enrolled as a college senior or obtained a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and applied to an accredited graduate school program.
All CGMA members are eligible for Education Loans on behalf of themselves, their spouse, and/or their dependent children under 23.

The Scholarships for Military Children program is open to unmarried military dependent children under the age 23 who possess a valid Uniformed Services Identification (USID) card. In addition, a student's parent(s)/sponsor(s) must be one of the following: active duty, reserve/guard, deceased, or retired from the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, or Space Force.

Eligibility is based on a spouse or caregiver’s ability to show their post-9/11 service member or veteran sustained a combat-related injury and/or has a 100% permanent and total VA disability rating to include Individual Unemployability. The Hope For The Warriors Scholarship Program considers a combat-related injury to be an injury caused by armed conflict, hazardous duty, instrumentality of war, and simulated war.
Scholarship awards are made payable to the recipient’s institution for payment of tuition, books and supplies. The scholarship is for U.S. colleges and universities only.

Support for education is a cornerstone of our commitment to the men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard and their families.
If you are the child of an active duty, retired, or active reserve Coast Guard commissioned officer or chief warrant officer, you are eligible to apply.
For the 2024 scholarship cycle, successful applicants can expect an award from $2,500 to $5,000.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
The Tillman Scholar program is open to applicants who meet the following criteria:
Veteran and active duty military service members from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces including the National Guard who have served in both pre-and post-9/11 eras.
Current Spouses of veteran or active service members, including surviving spouses
Spouses, veterans and service members who apply must be a full-time* student pursuing one of the following degrees at a public or private, U.S.-based, accredited institution for the upcoming fall/spring academic year:
An undergraduate degree (Bachelor’s or above)
A graduate or professional degree

Cadets/current ROTC participants with a future service commitment are not eligible to apply
Although we greatly appreciate the critical service rendered by members of the U.S. Public Health Service, First Responders (to include Law Enforcement personnel), and the Intelligence Community, members of those services who are not military veterans, service members, or spouses of military veterans/service members are not eligible to apply to be Tillman Scholars
Scholarships are awarded for the upcoming fall/spring academic year, not the current academic year. Scholarships are not retroactive for completed courses.
Strong applicants for this military scholarship demonstrate clear academic goals, extraordinary leadership potential and a deep desire to create positive change. They believe their best years of service to our country are still ahead of them, and they are committed to strengthening communities at home and around the world.
Scholarship Foundation of the Navy Wives Clubs of America, Inc. – up to 31 scholarships granted annually. The grants are presented with the knowledge that no repayment is expected from the recipient. Those eligible for the grants are the natural born, legally adopted or stepson or daughter of an Enlisted member of the Navy, Marine Corps or Coast Guard on active duty, or retired with pay or the son or daughter of a deceased member of these categories. Applicants must have a valid dependent’s ID card (United States Uniformed Services Identification and Privileges Card).
Applicants must show basis of need for financial assistance, have a scholastic standing of at least a 2.5 grade point average (GPA), and be a graduate of an accredited high school or its equivalent or will qualify for graduation prior to beginning eligibility for assistance. The grants may be used for tuition, room and board, fees and books. The deadline for scholarship applications is: Postmarked by March 31st.
We take great pride in providing education scholarships to military dependents. The scholarship funds are generated strictly through the hard work of members and volunteers who run the thrift shop. Each year we provide thousands of dollars to help with education costs! We strive to continue giving to our community via scholarships as we recognize the importance of pursuing education and the cost that comes along with the commitment.

The Fort Cavazos Family Scholarship Fund plays a pivotal role in eliminating obstacles to achieving higher education and enhancing the overall well-being of military families. Through the provision of academic scholarships to both high school seniors and military spouses residing in the Fort Cavazos area, we actively strive to enhance educational opportunities and uplift the quality of life for these valued families.
With the funds raised through our Thrift Shop, the LSC is able to provide scholarships for continuing education to military dependents and spouses. We offer three different categories of scholarships: High School Seniors, Returning College Students, and Spouses. Our scholarships are awarded every spring. Eligibility: You must be a dependent or spouse of a service member who is assigned or retired in JBSA.
How are recipients selected? The selection process for scholarship winners is based on a combination of GPA, extracurricular activities, leadership, volunteer hours, work experience, and essay submission. However, each application and its requirements differ.
Is there a GPA minimum? Yes. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher (GPA based on a 4.0 scale) for the SCSC High School 4-Year College Scholarship and the SCSC GAP Scholarship. Other scholarship categories do not have a GPA requirement.
How many scholarships are given out? In 2023, the SCSC awarded more than $90,000 to over 90 applicants.
